TheApple Watch is slightly taller by the versa is quite a bit wider than the 40mm AW. Perhaps width is the versa is in line with 44 AW. Picture if it helps you decide: comparison. I have the 40mm and I have small wrists. The 44mm would have looked too big for my arms if I had gone any larger.

Im somewhere between 145-150mm. The 40mm is definitely the right size for me, the 44 would be absolutely massive. But for the women who don't have absurd sticks for wrists like I do, the 44mm might be fine. As others suggested, try cutting up some paper with the dimensions from the website and see which you like better.
